Marv 924 #1 Posted March 19 Has anyone managed to find a paint that comes close to that color? I have used IH red, Regal red, Sunrise red and they all look good. But too far off for the 310, I think. I am just doing the fender pan because the hood is in good condition. Marv
squonk 41,176 #2 Posted March 19 Sun changes color over time. The exact paint from the factory probably won't match. Plus everyone's eyes sees a color differently than the next person. The best way to match paint is take off a good clean polished panel. Take it to an auto parts store that has a spectometer gun. They can shoot the panel and come up with a formula. My Napa has a paint store in Syracuse where they shot a hood and came up with a formula and put it in a spray can. 1
ebinmaine 67,776 #3 Posted March 19 IMHO that's the ONLY way you'll nail the right shade. I've worked with those paint color machines many moons ago. Super slick.
D_Mac 8,632 #4 Posted March 20 I repainted the deck and the grill on my 310-8 when I put new decals on it. I thought the Regal Red matched pretty good.
JCM 9,217 #5 Posted March 21 @Marv Have you ever tried Toro # 361-10 New Red in 12oz cans ? I recently painted a left hand side cover on a 1986 417-8 with all original paint and it came out nice. I have used this paint back in 2001 ish on this 86 312-8 pictured and was happy with the match. I do use Regal Red but it seems to have an orange look in the sunlight at times.
