There is no way to know what pattern you have by looking it up ( it just gives a part # ) High backs are $80.00 Low backs are $75.00 Edited June 9 by 76c12091520h 1

adsm08 2,060 #283 Posted June 7 Does anyone have any of the old RM series gear drive decks or parts for them? I have enough intact solid shells, but I'm always looking for pieces of the rotating assemblies, or even a good working whole unit.

When I refurbed mine the bearings were about $10 and the seals about $3 or 4. 1508 spindle bearing (4) ==> Koyo B-1212 needle bearings 1303 oil seal (2) ==> Timken 312518 seals I didn’t have to replace my cross-shaft or input pulley bearings but I did find (and now have lost) crosses to current bearings. Courtesy of @ri702bill, I have a tool to remove and set the spindle bearings and seals! The cross-shaft gears don’t seem to wear out, but the spindle shaft gears do. Hence a good set is tough to find.

It's mostly the spindle bearings I was in need of. But most of my issues year to year have been in this area and so at this point I kind of just want to have a whole rebuilt rotating assembly on my shelf read to slap on the deck at a moment's notice. Stine's is usually better, especially if I already have a WH/Toro number in hand, but Stine's hours conflict pretty heavily with my work schedule. When I can get there though, the lady who works the parts counter seems to know everything back to about 1936.

That's about the size of it. If you have a late-model Toro they can kind of fumble through things, but they have gotten into SCAGs and that's what they try to focus on.
