Treepep 598 #1 Posted February 29, 2024 I have a Yanmar YM2000Z 2wd tractor. 1975-77 I believe. (my Japanese is not great) My starter gave up. Well it operates on occasion. In the past I have used a site called Hoye out of Texas. They unfortunately have been purchased and I am having difficulty reaching anyone. I would prefer to find a brush kit. The solenoid is readily available. The starter and/or kit I am struggling with acquiring. Any thought would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks I will muddle through. It does not seem that long ago where I could put a starter on the counter at my Main NAPA and they would give me options. One that is seemingly unavailable is a darn brush kit. Guess that was more than thirty years ago... I will keep searching. Or find more yanmars to pirate parts from
RandyLittrell 3,886 #4 Posted March 31, 2024 My classmate when I was a kid lived a few houses down and his Dad sold Yanmars for awhile. I thought they looked pretty cool. Randy
Treepep 598 #5 Posted July 16, 2024 Yanmar question again. I found a starter down south and after replacing aging fuel lines/filter, bleed lines she is up and running. The shifter is all a kimber. Mowing along and reached my destination and the shifter became all loosey not unlike the horse without the set screw. I lifted the boot carefully from the shift tower and half of a roll pin emerged. It was clearly sheared. Now its a fuss getting into gear. I am seeking a parts diagram/list? Still not having great luck anymore finding parts. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Keep them horses cool folks!
