Jacobsen Greens Mower

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I picked this up Saturday and wanted to share a picture or two with you. It is a Model 62A that I think was built in the 50s or early 60s. If someone has a better idea of what year it is, please let me know. It starts on the first pull with starter fluid and runs fine after that. I will be asking for help on the choke and throttle linkage. The cables to the linkage work fine but the rest doesn't work. I'll take some close up pictures of the linkage in question tomorrow.

Here's the other picture I wanted to post. Ain't she a beauty! She actually cuts and is quite an experience to drive. All of my neighbors have driven it and agree it is a keeper.

Hey guys,

Thank you for the compliments. :thumbs2: They are very much appreciated.

Well, I finally got a fairly good picture of the linkage to the choke. I also sprayed everything real well with choke and carburetor cleaner since the picture was taken. I didn't realize it was that dirty. And it is now starting on the first pull without starter fluid.

All of the linkage, choke and throttle move freely. The cable linkage works good, but the springs and wires from then on don't move the choke open or closed. I have the same problem with the throttle linkage working properly. :ychain: Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Dave

Hey guys,

Thanks again for the nice compliments, but as much as I like the mower, it's got to go. I've been offered a pretty good price, so I'm selling it. The guy is scheduled to pick it up Saturday morning. I need the room anyway, but then again, who couldn't use more room.

That is a cool looking machine. Sorry it has to leave the storage area so quickly, but hey money talks and space comes at a premium at times.

Take some more wild rides on it before it goes. Just don't break anything!

Well, it's gone :hide: , but the good news is that the guy who bought it likes it even more than I did. :scratchead:
