https://www.harborfreight.com/07-amp-6-in-compact-palm-polisher-69487.html   , often refer to this , really makes a paint save /  clean up very easy , also get a pack of  buffer covers , you are going to need them . have used an oiled pad , on a lubricant sprayed down tractor , let the buffer do the work , light / easy , go in stages , you are not going to go from neglect  / rust to  clean / shinny . my  paints look just right for  well cared for . usually go to a cleaner wax after " paint breaks thru  "  from the grunge state . all I  do after that is use a clean cloth with an aerosol , lubricant on it to wipe it down , not a show queen , but its clean / clear , paint is deep clean.  just a thought , Pete

I've got one. They work great. The hood below was painted over 20 years ago, and it shined up great!

@kpinnc   can  relate to that , been recovering paint for a long time , my initial reaction to any paint , is a penetrating oil spray down , let it sit a day or two , then a clean cloth rub down , totally faded paint , no recovery , will  stay with the oiled patina look , often enhancing the era look . find its easy to , protect paint , surface stays slick , and always looks fresh , zero rust , pete
