WheelHorseVH 104 #1 Posted February 21 My father in law gave me this Titan TS50 painter and I would like to know if any of you guys have used one for automotive (tractor) painting purposes and have thoughts/tips. Thanks.
squonk 41,155 #2 Posted February 21 I 've used one of these. Works well and you can paint anywhere as long as you have electricity! https://www.tptools.com/SHOWTIME-99-HVLP-Paint-Spray-Turbine-Unit-with-1-Qt-Finish-Spray-Gun,11055.html?b=d*8049
WheelHorseVH 104 #3 Posted February 21 Thanks @squonk. Would you say the spray quality (perhaps not quantity) from a unit like this is similar to a body shop setup using an air compresser and HVLP gun? I have the nozzles including the .43 they recommend for automotive basecoat paints. What I am trying to figure out is whether it would be considered pro quality spray or just more made for general non-automotive painting purposes. I know, easiest way is for me to try it out when it gets warmer but I’m impatient and don’t have paint laying around. Would like to do a real nice base/clear on the hood and fender. squonk 41,155 #4 Posted February 21 (edited) Go to the link from TP Tools and read about spraying with a turbine system. A lot will have to do with the gun Titan provides too. I sprayed these 2 tractors with the Turbine system Edited February 21 by squonk 4
PWL216 889 #5 Posted February 22 @squonk I’m doing a ‘refresh’ of a C-105 and I’d like to paint the hood the color of your 145. Looks awesome. What brand/color paint did you use? Thx!
