Cjwv1975 64 #1 Posted February 8 Picked up a used 75c160. The transmission dipstick doesnt fit good on it and has allowed water to get into it. Is there a replacement grommet or oring for the dipstick itself. The dipstick is in good shape just doesn't seal good. Thanks
wallfish 16,994 #2 Posted February 8 (edited) The one I had trouble with was kinda like that. The rubber just wouldn't go into the tube right like it was swelled a bit or something. If that's what you have, I cured the problem by removing the plastic tube from the trans and using a step bit to ream some material off. Do just a little then test fit, little more each time. Rinse and repeat as necessary. Edited February 8 by wallfish

We also find the shifter boot to be a big culprit here. Seems the vast majority of these tractors are stored outside for Large portions of their lives and the rain runs down the shifter right into the transmission. 4
