Electro 12 won't budge! Help

Recommended Posts

Brooklyn581

I've got an Electro 12. Model number attached. Had low transmission fluid and I noticed a small slow drip at the drain plug. My guess is it leaked most of the fluid out over a long time sitting. There are no other leaks anywhere that can be seen

The machine has been stored inside its whole life and looks like it is in great shape. Motor runs strong.

I replaced the transmission filter and filled the fluid to the top of the hash marks on the stick.

I've tried the tow lever in both positions.

The pully wheels both spin on the engine and the pump. No broken keys. The belt turns and when the parking brake is released you can hear the engine work slightly harder as you would expect when engaging the hydrostatic drive.

Everything is clean and moving freely in the center console and  adjuster.

The lifting piston moves up and down no problem.

When I push forward or reverse I get extremely weak movement with no resistance. If I sit on the machine nothing. No whining motor, no movement. Nothing.

So close to ha ing a fully functional Tractor but she won't move an inch. Hoping someone has the cure and answer here. Any and all feedback is welcome!

Can you push the tractor with the tow valve in drive position.  If I read your post the hydro lift is working???

Edit

::also could be an internal plug has slipped see page 50 of hydrogear section in sunstand manual,.

I can push it with the valve in either position. Just checked the keys in the wheel Hubs / axles also. They are not spinning. The hydro lift IS working, Yes.

Do we know when last time was she worked. maybe parked due to sudden failure???  I am afraid it sounds like a key on the counter shaft or the internal plug. Both these failures are pretty sudden not result of sitting...

I found the plug in the reservoir just like in the book! Secured everything back together and took right off like hitting a light switch. Thanks for the support Red Square & Pfrederi!
