Aw shucks! I think I know what it is

Out in the shop today I found this tool.  I think I know what it was used for.  Shuckin' corn.

I've never used one or even seen one before and it's not used in the way I had imagined.  I found video of a fellow using one but his was a homemade wooden one where as this one is likely store bought.  The very tip is broken off and I assume it would have been sharper.   I don't know how old it is. Looks like I found another tool to donate to local museum.

That was made by a blacksmith, I think it's a carving tool to make wooden pegs.

Interesting piece.

Can you share the video of it working?

Corn husker tool as we knew them, had a leather strap that fit around the hand (fingers). Here is a picture courtesy of eBay

This tool that I have has a leather strap that slides over my middle two fingers and holds it like I saw in a video of a fellow shucking corn.  I guess I'm not sure what it is.

To answer ebinmaine's question about seeing it in action, it's too big to replace the tooth pick I lost from my Swiss Army knife, too little to split fire wood. Maybe someone else can fill in the clues.
