JCM 9,130 #1 Posted February 2 At the M & G here in Maine in 2022 my daughter came to visit so I surprised her with a ride in the 86 Chevy K-20 something she hadn't been in for many years. She has a liking for Owls so I headed to a few back roads from the house and when she spotted this she was thrilled. It amazes me how much talent some people have to create something this magnificent. This stands all of 8' tall , stump included, would be a fair guess. D_Mac 8,607 #7 Posted February 3 I purchased this piece a few years back. I didnt know how tall it was until i went to pick it up. I had planned on putting it on my front porch. Come to find out it was over 9 feet tall. Wasnt going to fit on the porch, wasnt going to fit in the house either. I didnt want to leave it outside so i enjoyed looking at it for the summer then sold it. Wish I kept it. peter lena 8,608 #8 Posted February 4 @JCM funny you brought this up , while working in the shed , the maple tree about 25 ft. away , with green / pale white mold on it , seamed to have a movement point . just stopped my movement , and watched , sure enough , the mold was moving ! the small bird / sapsucker , was a perfect match for its searching ,silo whet , size coloring , you could not se it , till it moved . had 2 rows of deep holes , now spreading syrup , in the bark . holes were about 5/16 " at least 2" deep , neat rows . Here's a little one that was mounted up on the front of the shed. He keeps watch.
