Retired Wrencher 5,451 #1 Posted February 2 Looking for info on fuel pump that has vacuum pump or pulse pump. Never knew they had these pumps because it is a 66? Never owned a 66 before. The vacuum pulse pump you have requires only a small square diaphragm to be replaced. It's come up on Redsquare about swapping from one style pump to the other in the past. The part in question is the actual camshaft in a Pulse type engine. I've not seen definitive proof that Kohler always used the same cam on both engines. I would NOT try to install a lever arm pump where a pulse pump was originally. Mike'sHorseBarn 2,998 #8 Posted February 2 I've used the @buckrancher diaphragms before and usually keep a few on the shelf. In fact I used one this week on my 854 pump and now I only have one left so it may soon be time for another order lol As far as using a lever style pump I believe the cams have the lobe no matter if your engine has a vacuum pump or not. I only know that because I tried it on an 855 and I found one that worked. You have to use a pump with the offset lever. 3 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
