Joe 77 B100 84 #1 Posted January 22 My tractor won't give me anything when I turn the key and I think its the clutch safety switch. It won't seem to push in or out. I am going to try and remove it and clean/lube it but I thought I'd ask: 1) Am I gonna be able to find a replacement? 2) Is there some way to bypass that switch? Totally learning as I go so please give specifics. :) Thanks folks.
Tonytoro416 1,034 #2 Posted January 22 Don’t recommend deleting it completely but you can just jump around the safety to see if that interlock is indeed your culprit

That's good news. I will remove it and try to clean it up. Its gonna be hard to remove cuz its snug next to other parts. Now that the weather isn't quite so cold, I will try it. rmaynard 15,535 #6 Posted January 24 (edited) If your 1977 B-100 has an original wiring harness, bypassing should be simple. Here is a picture of the clutch interlock switch on my B-100 Here is a picture viewed from the underside front. That is a slide-on connector. Grab it with a pair of needle-nose pliers, pull it off, then using a paperclip or some other device, jump the wires in that black connect. That should prove a fault in the switch. The switch is not difficult to remove. Edited January 24 by rmaynard
Tonytoro416 1,034 #7 Posted January 24 The switch are simple. Hot in and out out When the switch is made it interrupts voltage. Take your plug and unplug it from switch and use a small jumper wire stuck in one side of plug to the other side of plug. Eliminating the switch essentially

It WAS just frozen and the ball couldn't move due to the sub-zero temps we've had. All fixed with the thaw.
