ebinmaine 69,239 #1 Posted January 21, 2024 How do you set the upper RPM limit on a mid 60s like an 856, 867? On the later model Big Blocks I have there's a stopper on the front of the block that you use to set the upper RPM limit. Nothing like that on these.

pfrederi 18,073 #3 Posted January 21, 2024 I hate this job on the K181s the big blocks are so much easier. 1
wallfish 17,141 #4 Posted January 21, 2024 If you need that arm in the location it is vs moving it, just loosen the throttle cable clamp and adjust it that way

BEST done under load - a snowblower can sap a lot of RPM off the top speed..... I reset mine twice a year - winter use, summer easier use......
ri702bill 8,614 #6 Posted January 21, 2024 Be SURE the throttle cable clamp SECURELY grips the outer casing of the cable sheath. If it slips, you will be chasing your tail trying to get it right... (may want to have Trina video the tail chasin' though) 1
wallfish 17,141 #7 Posted January 21, 2024 If you use needle nose pliers and bend the edges of those clamps in just a little they will stick harder to the conduit. Then to move them you can spin it on the conduit like screw threads.
wallfish 17,141 #8 Posted January 21, 2024 (edited) The conduit jacket gave on this one and let the wire conduit slide right up to the arm on the disk. = No throttle Use a razor knife and remove that portion of the jacket and clamp right to the metal conduit. You might need to bend the edges of the clamp as above to grab that smaller diameter wire conduit. Adjust top end rpm with the clamp on the cable Edited January 21, 2024 by wallfish

I put on a new clamp, adjusted the position, and turned the arm counterclockwise a few hairs widths. I think it'll work better now. Might be a few days before we try it.
