Sparky-(Admin) 21,314 #1 Posted January 19 Guy at works says to me “You don’t wanna fly thru Chicago on the winter, you risk getting snowed in at the airport”…I disagree! They are so well prepared here at O'Hara Airport. Watching out the window from the United lounge just confirms it for me. The dump truck is actually a hot-box that the payloaders are feeding with snow. I assume it’s parked over a pretty huge drain of some sort. And checkout those plows! Like what, 20’ wide?? 11

squonk 41,052 #5 Posted January 19 (edited) Many municipalities are using the snow melters. They got to get rid of it somehow. Either truck it to who knows where with many trucks or plant a few of these babies in strategic locations and send it down the storm drain. https://www.interstatepm.com/on-site-snow-melting/ Edited January 19 by squonk
