F FIERCE CYCLE Motorcycle Engine Rubber Fuel Gas Oil Tank Cover Seal O Ring Gaskets Protector Universal Circular https://a.co/d/43WnRyL

The exact dimensions of the cap and tank flange, and its good and thick by the looks of it.

Ive been using stacked cork or rubberized paper and it always leaked...cap never cinched down snug...this should get it back proper

@clueless well, that gasket is dimensionally perfect...except its a shade too thick, the cap starts to cam down on the ears but it binds...the search continues.  Regardless i have a perfect template now

Following with interest. If I completely fill my 854’s tank, the sloshing on a hard turn causes fuel to seep out.

With the vent, itll probably still seep if topped off.  Mine would pretty much run out

I ordered a sheet of 1/16" nbr, its fuel resistant, ill use the thick gasket as a template.

Its down to the frame/trans and some linkages.  Ill tape up the lift handle and spray it all.  Engine is cleaned, 2 bad holes in the aluminum bearing plate drilled and helicoiled, painted.  New head gasket, breather and carb gaskets inbound.

More progress, new stainless flange bolts, seat and fenders on, tank and steering on with the new tank bushing.  The front axle slop was fixed by putting a nut on the axle bolt pivot.  Waiting on new head bolts and studs, points screws.

Also...its 64⁰ today😅

Head is on, new studs, spacers, nuts, washers from Bolt Depot.  Coil is mounted with a proper mount now.

S/G mounts both on.  New seat cover on.  Wheels stripped cleaned and painted, new stems

I’ve never seen a condenser mounted with a head bolt, always with coil clamp bolt. Interesting.

NICE job on the rims..

The old coil mount barely held the coil, ive had the do alot of un-rigging on this one, i can shorten the wire back down and use the coil mount now i suppose.  I need to get a new, longer coil wire and move the coil a bit lower too.  Hoping to get the engine on the frame tomorrow and get the flywheel and shroud on.  I can't lift it with the flywheel on and carry it, and i dont want to risk using the loader and scraping something.

Im planning to stud the lower 5oclock shroud mount/starter belt cover mount...should be easier to access with the battery in place.

The wheels were not as bad as id expected but it still took about 5 hours...i cut the old tires off by using a 4.5" cutoff wheel to slice a section of tire off, leaving the beads exposed, and cut the beads with the air chisel, then peeled the tires off.  Then soaked in degreaser and power washed.  I put a pipe in my vice, angled up, to hold the wheels, then mounted a 4.5" stripping wheel on the grinder, working my way around each bead face, then mounted a 2.5" wire wheel on the die grinder and cleaned up the rest of the bead surface, and stem holes, any loose paint or rust was removed, then power washed again.  I fired up the old propane grill i retired last year, heated each wheel to about 250⁰, then a 2k primer, and 2 coats of Almond, 30 minutes setup, then back on the grill at 250⁰ for 30 minutes.  Once cooled its hard as a rock.  While cleaning i found a manufacturer mark on a back wheel.

Only thing left is the hood...and its far too humid right now for that.  73⁰ 99% humidity

But it runs again, seems to charge, and the smoking has all but stopped
