Agree, got to have a stiffer rod. 

Although, on the xi machines the steering rods are  1/2"x2 foot long and hold up well. (until the daughter barks a tree with the tire. and viola custom) Straighten it out and worked good.

@JoeM  that quadrant base is lubrication dry , also the squeeze lever slide pin point , changed the plow swing lever over to a 1/2" fine threaded rod with HEIM JOINTS  on each end/  , that lever swings like a rifle bolt , lucas grease . pete

Yeah that is one out of the junk pile.

 

I do like this spray grease, pretty good stuff.

I really wish WH hydro models had auxiliary hydraulics, i put a 48" blade on my 312-8 with manual lift and angle and I grew to despise it🤣.

 

I got a 54" blade for a different tractor with 2 spools of auxiliary hydraulics and its just a matter of rocking the levers back and forth

Boy, I looked at the image and wondered if you’d somehow inverted it. Then I read the post. 

I like this approach. I’d make the arm as long as possible given the throw of the cylinder.

My son has lately been at the wheel for a couple of “uh oh” moments. Thankfully, nothing to expensive to fix!
