peter lena 8,629 #10 Posted February 16 @Wayne0 THAT INNER NEEDLE BEARING , likes a HI TEMP GREASE , after an initial clean cloth wipe out ,like the lucas x tra heavy duty green , grease 550 deg flash point , just enough grease to lightly cover the bearing , excess flings onto clutch disk , avoid that . might also replace the outer bearing , which is sealed , Napa has it in stock . might also check out related mule drive bearings , for a re grease , pete Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

peter lena 8,629 #13 Posted February 16 @Wayne0 remember more often than not , COLLECTIVE BEARING DRAG ON A PTO DRIVE CLUTCH , is definitely telling you something , often refer to rough bearings , lubrication failures , the majority of related bearings , can be easily cleaned out and re packed , with a 550 deg grease , also say how , my pto drive belt to attachment , moves with ease , no screaming clutch , or burned disc , thats what you want to verify with a function check . those heat cracks are telling you of such a driven connection . just a suggestion . pete Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

As has already been said, that thing is a grenade waiting for the proper centrifugal force to be applied. It will make for an interesting emergency room explanation...
