Welcome @Norfolk_Boy definitely not a 1979, I believe it’s a mid 80’s machine, 85 or newer? @Brockport Bill may be able to help you with this? He’s a really nice guy and I’m sure he will help if he can.

Cheers Mick, fine looking machine you have there. I was just looking at the serial number on mine, am I right in thinking that the last 2 numbers are the year of manufacture? mine is 79

Garry @gwest_ca is our numbers guy. Wheel Horse had some deep dark secret numbering system and European numbers seem to have not been the same as in the states                     :confusion-confused:                 .I think the 211-3 was made in the 1985 to 1988 time frame.

thanks Don for kind words -- here is info from TractorData.com web site and a link -- the Red Sq " Interchange list" here on the tool bar also shows same info  - - that 211-3 was from 1985-87 - TractorData link tells how to read serial numbers https://www.tractordata.com/articles/technical/serialnumbers.html

if you go to partstree.com to search 211-3 in the model field it will match the respective year to your tractors serial number https://www.partstree.com/models/22-11b302-211-3-toro-yard-tractor-1986  --- Also if you go to Toro Master Parts Viewer it will also match your serial number to the year. Good luck  - let us know if that info is what you wanted????

as an fyi -- I keep all these link addresses in my Favorites Bookmmarks for convenient reference -- here is the Toro Wheel Horse link https://lookup3.toro.com/partdex/index.cfm?xCaller=Toro

Excellent, I cant thank you guys enough for such helpful and friendly replies to my post.

I think I'm getting somewhere, so from the partstree website my model number B2-11B302 tells me its an 86 211-3 so should have a rear discharge cutting deck which is model number 05-36XR05. Now just to get the belts!

Hi there and welcome, these guys are really helpful and know everything. When you know the part number or length of the belt I suggest you try Bearing Boys, they are up in Norfolk somewhere and I have used them many times over the years. Andrew.

Hi everyone,

I thought I would post a quick update.

We've put the deck together and managed to get a belt that fits. A clean up and a new seat fitted and here's how its looking now.

Only problem we have at the minute is that the belt from the deck to the motor seems to rest a bar on the underside when the deck is up. Is this normal? can anyone see if we're doing anything wrong here? Also the belt is a little loose although seems to be the correct one from the drawings. Thanks in advance!

The final picture is with the deck down

I don't have any experience with the vertical engine tractors, but if the deck disengages when it is raised, the belt hitting that rod should not be a problem.    Maybe other members with one of these tractors will offer advice.
