Manuel 8 #1 Posted December 18, 2023 Broke off the plastic nipple on the air cleaner vacuum sensor while removing the battery, Toro customer service told me to contact a dealer because they had no info on part number 94-1839… this is sad.. again told to call a dealer?.. is a joke. Dealer near me states they don’t have it but can order one for 140.00, ouch. Does anyone know if I can use the tractor without it? Is a 520h w serial number starting with 7900 model 73502. Was able to contact the part manufacturer and the were able to help , part 8111150 made back in 1996 , ordered one but due to holidays , may be looking at2 to 3 weeks but have no choice as the part price is under 50.00. Toro customer service is about to lose a loyal customer based on the lack of help they have provided.
ri702bill 8,387 #2 Posted December 18, 2023 Got a close picture of the broken pieces? You might be able to adapt something else to do for now.....
lynnmor 7,322 #3 Posted December 19, 2023 (edited) You should plug the hose going to the engine to prevent dirt from going in. That sensor is a switch that turns in the air filter light when there is too much restriction. The sensors were available from a distributor for a sensible price, I’ll get you the website if they are still available, give me a day. Do a search on here and you should be able to find it. You should never wait for the light to come on before cleaning the filter. Most of the 520s that I see have the sensor disconnected.

Wayne0 471 #8 Posted December 22, 2023 I guess the point is, do you really need it? Mine broke and I just plugged the hose. I don't need a light to check the air filter.

lynnmor 7,322 #10 Posted December 22, 2023 One time in all the years I saw the air filter light come on and it proved to be of some help. Just looking at the paper filter it appeared to be good but a light held inside proved otherwise. The foam pre-cleaner will take out most of the visible dirt and allow the fine dust to go thru.
