Jeremiah elliott 29 #1 Posted December 15, 2023 So I put new fuel line on the wheel horse today, cleaned the carb and put back together. In the process the port the fuel line hooks to just came out. I don’t know much about carbs but is that suppose to happen?? Thinking about just buying a new carb all together as long as I can find the right one. Gas cap and shifter boot came today. The c10 gas cap looks amazing and fits perfect!!

WHX?? 48,815 #4 Posted December 15, 2023 I would suggest a new carb. For what little it was I wasn't even gonna mess with cleaning the old one. Fit & works great. Techy H60
D_Mac 8,619 #5 Posted December 16, 2023 If we keep talking Techie engines @squonk will show up. He has a fondness for them. I agree you can buy a new carb for what they want for rebuild kit. I have had better luck with cheap carbs on tecumseh engines then I do with Kohlers. 1

On the 310-8 I just did I bought 2 cheap ones before having to purchase one from Isavetractors. For the extra money they put their name on the bowl ! In all seriousness, since installing their carb the tractor runs perfectly. 1
Achto 27,577 #8 Posted December 16, 2023 (edited) In my experience the Chinees build a much better carb than Tecumseh did. Briggs & Stratton never could make a decent carburetor, their worst attempt being the Flow Junk updraft. Best thing they did on their newer engines was to buy a carb from Mikuni or maybe it was Keihin. I have never had a Carter carb on a Kohler that could not be rebuilt and used so I have never bought an import carb for a Kohler. I have one Kohler with a Walbro carb that has survived a rebuild and is back in service as well. Edited December 16, 2023 by Achto
