Just came home from a Urolift procedure

Urolift. Sounds like a ride service in Europe. But no...

I've been having issues in the "plumbing" department over the last couple years, so I finally decided to have a Urolift. I'm not going to describe it, but you can Google it. I'm back home and feeling okay other than I feel like I'm peeing hot lead. :angry-screaming:. Hopefully in 24 hours it will subside. Until then...

Did they use purple, yellow or clear primer? :teasing-poke:

All the best Bob! :handgestures-thumbupright:

3-4 years since my three lag bolt lift.   Now  I sleep 5-6 hours  instead of 2-3.        Much better solution than the Flowmax or the Roto-Rooter.

Best wishes for good results Bob.

Only thing less fun is a catheter so I’m glad you missed out on that!

Hoping you mend quickly, sir.

I just slept thru a 7 hour night and thought of you....how's it going Bob?

I find drinking a couple glasses of water after dinner helps.      I used to drink milk and discovered that was part of the problem.

Not sure if you saw this older thread.

Follow-up:

It's been two weeks now. Pain is gone, and the "urge incontinence" is much better. I'll give another report in a couple of weeks.

The recovery is getting better every day, however both the wife and I have had serious head and chest colds since I had the procedure. Not sure if it's the nighttime urination or the coughing that is waking me up.

I have come to the conclusion that at my age our primary purpose in life is to keep the members of the medical community employed.      God bless them all for being able to keep us going.

No kidding. Wife went to the doctor yesterday since she and I have been having trouble kicking a cold. Turns out she tested positive for RSV (I have it as well more than likely). She needed a new prescription for an Albuterol inhaler so a new PA sends Rx to pharmacy.  $574.00. You can't tell me that what costs $15 two years ago is now $574.00. Somebody is getting rich.

@Maynard

I wish you and your wife a speedy recovery from the RSV. My wife and I both had it. It took us a full month+ to get over that cough.

Thanks. We are both recovering. The wife is much slower than me due to her asthma. I'd say I'll be fully recovered sometime next week, Mrs. M about a week later. Neither of us should be contagious by this time.

I just made appointments to get the RSV vaccine next week for me , Mrs. K, and 99yo MIL.    Did any of you guys have the vaccine?    Just wondering if it prevents or just lessens the symptoms.

Had the RSV vaccine in October. According to the data sheet, it should both lessen chance of infection and lessen chance of severe infection. Note that the word prevent is notably absent!

My wife has had a cough without fever or other pain for three weeks--me for the last two. I’m about done but hers is hanging on. Appointments next week to learn more.

I don't think any vaccination claims tp PREVENT anything. I got my RSV shot a couple months back. Too much news about respiratory hospitalizations going around to not take precautions.

Mrs. M and I were scheduled to get the RSV vaccine after the 1st of the year, but RSV got us first. Fortunately, I don't have asthma, but Mrs. M does and this stuff hit her bad. Fortunately both of us are well on the way to a full recovery.

I'm probably going to wind up going that route. Tired of the FloMax. I know about the "peeing hot lead".  Back in 2000 I had a ureter obstruction cleared with the roto-rooter and that is the only description that fits!
