carlosking450 155 #1 Posted December 5, 2023 Hello everyone! Does anyone have any experience with mounting a Kholer Magnum 18 engine in a Wheel Horse 702 or similar? Does it fit into the gap? Do I have to modify the engine cover? Thank you.
oliver2-44 9,952 #2 Posted December 5, 2023 (edited) That's a lot of HP for a little short frame. With the extra weigh up front steering will get a little harder. Please try not to cut/modify the hood. make some mounts to raise it up if need be. Edited December 5, 2023 by oliver2-44
carlosking450 155 #3 Posted December 5, 2023 I haven't decided yet, I have seen an engine for sale here in Spain, but as you say it may be too much, thank you!
953 nut 56,278 #4 Posted December 5, 2023 The Kohler twin cylinder engines are considerably longer than the space you have available on a 702. Unless you are a skilled fabricator and auto body worker I wouldn't advise getting in over your head. 1
Pullstart 63,262 #5 Posted December 6, 2023 I’d surely advise against also! 1
kpinnc 12,872 #6 Posted December 6, 2023 Vanguards might be an option. They have a very small footprint and are much shorter than an opposed twin of any flavor. Also much smaller than Kohler or Predator v-twin as well. Might require some creativity with the air cleaner, but there are options for it. 2
