Someone's moved it over the years. Should be on the right.

Odd, I'm gonna guess that I just take it off and move it they also took a random headlight cut out a block of wood and screwed it in to the front 🤦‍♂️

That should be correct but watch CAREFULLY where the wires go.

Check the old hole in your dash to see if it rounded out or damaged.

ALWAYS disconnect the ground wire(s) from the battery before doing any electrical work.

ALWAYS.

😂

You'll find that PO  (previous owners)  do the weirdest things you could imagine when keeping their machines running or trying to repair one.

Here on our acreage Trina and I have a combined total of 13 tractors counting current workers and future projects.

We've had at least that many more go through the shop.

We've seen some pretty screwy stuff.  Wiring harness "fixes" seem to be the toughest for people to do.

The hole on the left was where the cigarette lighter went, smoking isn't good for you so don't be too concerned about it.       :ROTF:

I wonder if the previous owner may have used a different switch in place of the correct one and changed your wiring?    The ignition swatch should have been  a 4988 or 7263 as pictured below. If that is not what you have then the wiring has probably been changed.  Check the key switch you have and let us know if it is the same.

That light in your dashboard might be the generator lamp. Tells you if you're charging or not.

From the outside it looks like your ignition switch is not stock Wheel Horse. Hard to say without additional pictures.

Might be kind of buried in there behind the gas tank but can you see the BACK of that switch where all the wires go in? Also that light?

Looking at your picture of the ignition switch I can tell it is not the one it left the factory with.

Make a drawing of each wire going to the switch that is on your Charger. Remove the ignition switch and see if it has any numbers stamped into it. Once we know what your switch is we can come up with a wiring drawing.

I’ve had some success fixing them with an inexpensive ($20) Harbor Freight plastic welder. Trying to glue them with epoxy or silicone has not lasted for me.

It has a special socket the unit is not grounded.  One wire to the I terminal the other to the S terminal.  It should light when you turn the key to run...

That should engage the drive belt tensioner pulley.

That's your belt tension remover and park brake.

It engages the belt when down.

Pulled up, you should be in neutral.
