Rick Ferrucci 17 #1 Posted November 16, 2023 Hi everyone. I would like to add additional LED light fixtures to my tractor (GT14) this year, in addition to the anemic 1154 replacement bulbs I'm using in the headlights now. They're a slight improvement over stock but I'd like some more brightness. For anyone who's added additional LED fixtures to your machine, how many watts total are they? Are you happy with them? Is your charging system able to keep up with them? Thanks for your input. Rick
ebinmaine 67,439 #2 Posted November 16, 2023 On my 75 C160 Automatic I have two custom headlights built with little flat inserts. Either @kpinnc or @Horse Newbie tossed that idea at me. Beside those on magnetic mounts I have two 4" round lamps. Those aim at the side angles while plowing. On the rear I have a 6-wide LED by Grote. I use two magnetic mount LED amber flashing lights as well. One mounted on each rear fender corner. I also have two ¾" red LED marker lights from a semi on the front of the frame at the sides. I put those on just for aesthetics in the first place and it turns out they add a fair amount of red light around the front axle area. Suffice it to say I have VERY good illumination!

I agree, the LED’s use a tiny fraction of what an old sealed beam would. I changed my headlights to LED… plenty of light ! No worries…
Rick Ferrucci 17 #6 Posted November 17, 2023 Thanks for the response to my question. I think the message to me is that LED's use so little power, that if my tractor had 4 old fashioned bulb fixtures, I'm probably safe to install 4 new LED fixtures.

Quite possibly many more.

As a "rule of thumb", an LED lamp will draw about ¼ the amperage of an equivalent light output incandescent lamp. You can festoon your tractor! ebinmaine 67,439 #10 Posted November 18, 2023 Festoon is one of those words we just need to use more often. Lights on a vehicle, including tractors, is something you can NOT have too many of. 2
