Achto 27,575 #5 Posted November 14, 2023 (edited) @Pullstart, Good to see that your truck gets a regular Cat-Scan. Good maintenance practice. Edited November 14, 2023 by Achto 1

c-series don 8,707 #8 Posted November 16, 2023 @mrc And a Fisher plow I see! Is that a belt driven hydraulic pump? I love that setup, basic as it gets. I’ve had a few of those over the years. Solid front axle, locking hubs, transfer case shifter on the floor. No electronics to go wrong. Flatbed dump too! I really like it! Your truck appears to be in great shape for its age and haven been driven in the salt. When Chevy went to the independent front end, I went to a Ford-F350 so I could have a solid front axle for plowing.
mrc 812 #9 Posted November 16, 2023 hi c-series don, yes, old straight blade speedcaster fisher plow. the pump is electric over hydraulic (cable operated) from an old international pickup a coworker was junking about 35 years ago. only thing i've had to do was replace the solenoid and one cable in almost 35 years. this past summer i had to replace the p/s pump and all the hydro-boost lines on my buddy's K30. he is 75 years old and cannot do mechanical work anymore. to get to his p/s pump i had to remove the belt driven snow plow pump. agreed very simple setup. i live by the KISS rule. (keep it simple stupid) i do not blame you for switching to ford to get a solid axle front end. i refurbished my K20 in 2001. right down to the frame and then built back up. took my friend and i 4 months. i bought the K20 brand new a couple months after getting out of the service when i was a young man. looking back, one of the best investments i ever made. glad you like it. regards mike 2
