Looking for an owners manual, parts manual  for snow blade in picture to go on my 414-8, any idea where i can pick one up?

This blade came with the blade adjustment (left-right) handle but it does not seem right, handle on right side is not looking like the handles i’ve seen on videos, hoping to get manual to show me if thats the correct handle or order the one i need, there is no trigger(?) to pull back spring to allow blade left and right movement, however, cable is there from spring to where it should connect to handle, but no idea how to hook up cable if no trigger looking part is on handle that i have

I don't see the whole plow frame you have there.  You might have a short frame blade.    If that's the case, it won't fit a 414-8 anyway without alterations.

Thank you rjg854, was told it would fit my 414-8 by a knowledgeable WH shop, what is different is the handle, just took pics to post and see what i have, again, thanks for commenting.

I can’t find model number on frame of plow anywhere, where should i look?

@John Rizzardi, you have a short frame blade there. A long frame blade will have the additional length at the axle end of its frame. The two frame sides will be parallel from each other on the axle end of a long frame blade. If you installed your blade on your 414-8 the blade part would probably interfere with the front tires and you will not be able to angle the blade. As you can see from @gwest_ca list, short frame blades were just used until the late 1960’s. -JD-

@John Rizzardi   2 milk crates under the frame , 1 just behind steering quadrant  , another  towards rear of frame , lets you totally build up and  test movement function , just like it would be hanging under the horse . roller stool around as you go , also a perfect opportunity to change out that sloppy fitting plow steer  lever rod ,to  threaded rod , with heim joints at each end . the lever squeeze point , small channel locks , tighten up wire rod , lubricate , also the lower TRIANGLE , that it hooks to , add a longer bolt , / elastic nut , lets you dial  in a perfect movement spot , lock down with nut . that quadrant slide pin , can and should work like a rifle bolt , aerosol red grease , smooth / easy solid .rolling  around the frame , lets you improve every function . hitch pin clips , on rear lever mount points , slide in to last hole , will not fall out . setting up a plow , on crates is the deal . what ever you improve on / correct , is exactly  what you are putting on the tractor , you just road tested it , done this for years , lubricate front of blade, snow slide , pete

That is for a short frame tractor.  It may fit on your 414, but will probably hit the front tires if you angle the blade.

This is the trigger lever you are missing.

These guys are correct, (as they usually are!) that is for a short frame and will hit the front wheels when angled. To fix this problem you should find a nice short frame tractor and buy it ! Then you can look for a plow for your 414!

Sometimes the the older plows just had a serial number decal on the back side of the blade. Could have likely came off over the years or had been painted over. For what it is worth judging from your pictures, your plow might be a model BD-4262 or a BD-4263. Their illustrated parts manuals can be found in our Red Square reference section. -JD-

The later models mounted the brackets below the rear axle housing.

Wondering if the correct rear axle brackets for the early blades were used would it fit a long frame tractor?

Good question Garry.    I have an old style axle bracket and short and long plow frames.   Watching the Steelers/GB game now. At half time I'll check it out.

Here is the old style axle bracket from a short frame tractor with a long frame .  The bracket will not fit without some alteration to the ends of the long frame.

Metal would have to be removed from the ends and the top of the frame to make it fit.

Thank you very much to Ed and everyone, i’ve got blade in truck bed, and i’m driving out to A-Z Tractor in Bethel tomorrow to show and get advice from Lincoln or Sam (or both), thank you all for your help in helping me get the right blade, hopefully A-Z has a long frame blade and would be willing to work out a deal for correct blade, trade what i’ve got for what i need, if i can trade the blade i can’t use and buy a blade i can use, hopefully it’s win-win for me and A-Z tractor. Gonna really try to work it out, again thanks for all your input guys🤗

Maybe that Wheel Horse knowledgeable shop should spend a little time here! Where the combined knowledge of the members is second to none!

Red-Z06 and Handy Don, my trip out to Lincoln’s Shop was very good, i now have a long frame snow blade frame that Lincoln sold me and swapped it out on the spot(from my truck bed), Lincoln was all over my snow blade as soon as i arrived st the shop, we kept the blade that was on my short frame (60” as opposed to the 48” on long frame) my snow blade is exactly what is in the pics you posted RED-Z06, and because of how quick and accurate Lincoln was helping me, the shop got a nice tip from me and i would recommend A to Z Tractor to all with any question about their machine, Great experience from you guys and A to Z , thank you all (when i’m done cleaning up leaves with vacuum system currently on 414-8 on goes my snow blade for winter. Again, I thank you all for helping me🤗

@John Rizzardi  when you are  bolting up lever / movement points , use a longer , smooth shank bolt flat washers on each end , and an elastic lock nut , to hold "  sweet movement setting " lubrication , very solid / smooth , blade swing is amazingly easy . been using a graphite front spray on the blade , for snow slide , like adding  horse power , in use . verify your build up , on milk crates , done this for years , Pete
