@rmaynard  Did some more research. The only brand that I can find with the flat sheet metal cover up the center of the handle bars is Montgomery Wards. All others seem to have open pipe from the frame all the way up.

Dan, I think that you are right. My father was a big fan of Montgomery Wards. Of course, at age six, I was not interested in the make, just that he would let me ride with him (no helmet, no gloves, no knee pads). I survived.
