Wheel Horse 3D 3,795 #1 Posted November 5, 2023 The thought is: has anyone ever attached an augers with it's own power to their bucket??? Was thinking, with forks I could space them to nicely hold the unit, ratchet strap that puppy, an rig a way to operate the throttle. Manhandling that auger is getting quite difficult! 953 nut 55,256 #2 Posted November 5, 2023 Keeping the auger vertical and centered in the hole could be a bit challenging as the bucket is lowered. It goes down in an arc rather than a straight line.
Wheel Horse 3D 3,795 #3 Posted November 5, 2023 True, I had thought of a pivot if I wanted to do some fabrication, but manually leveling isn't too bad.
953 nut 55,256 #4 Posted November 5, 2023 When I lived in Homestead Florida I rented a post hole digger like the one pictured below. With the engine located away from the auger it made boarting a hole in coral rock a lot more doable. had to start with a two inch auger then switch off to a six inch, the six inch by itself wouldn't do anything.
wallfish 17,000 #5 Posted November 5, 2023 That should work. Throttle shouldn't be too hard Used to have this cool machine for doing post holes. Did my 6 holes and then sold it 1

Build a fork-lift to mount it to, then you have two pieces of equipment.
