luckyDigge 4 #1 Posted November 4, 2023 I don't know if this is something made by Toro. But if it is I'd like to know.
Moparfanforever 844 #2 Posted November 4, 2023 (edited) Don't think Toro made it, but it is a ground ripper, that is what it looks like to me. They normally have a curved sharp point that goes in the ground. It is used to tear up hard pan ground. Edited November 4, 2023 by Moparfanforever
ebinmaine 67,441 #3 Posted November 4, 2023 We have this one for a Garden Tractor. It's about 16" long. The one pictured in the first post looks VERY large in comparison.

Handy Don 12,214 #7 Posted November 5, 2023 Subsoilers can be “exciting" to use in rocky or heavily rooted ground--either can bring forward progress to an abrupt halt and possibly break things.
SylvanLakeWH 25,539 #8 Posted November 5, 2023 They also can be very effective at finding unmarked wires, irrigation lines, etc... 1

Absolutely agreed. The trick on possible rough ground is to start shallow and work down in small increments.
