Help with snow plow part

I just found a 42 inch snow blade and when I got it home and went to set up I realized it has a broken the blade control rod on the side that is silver can anyone lead me to a replacement I can't find anything on them online thank you

That control rod # 104338 (Item "X" in pic) is simply a 1/2" steel rod with a 90deg bend on each end, offset 90deg of each other. 

Home Depot, ValuHome, or Lowes would have a 36" long 1/2" dia round bar for $5 bux or so. 

Using a 36" long x 1/2" rod: 

(1) mark the CENTER of it...then mark at 16" LEFT and RIGHT of center.

(2) Bend each end 90 degree at that mark....OFFSET 90 degree of each other. (Red hot helps)

(3) the rod should now be 32" INSIDE the two OFFSET bends.

(4) After bending, cut off each end leaving about 1" of rod.  

(5) Drill a 1/8" dia hole approx 3/8" from the now bent over ends.

This is the same rod used for 42 and 48 dozer blades.

@daveoman1966 has ya fixed up with some great directions. 

 

That's also a part that can be built with threaded rod and Heim joints.  

THAT is an excellent upgrade to the plow system.  

The heim joints take a LOT of the looseness out of the movement.

Absolutely Agree. Altered the rod for the 48" on the C81.

@daveoman1966's statement is true for both rods being the same - ON A LONG FRAME plow.

It IS shorter on a 42" plow for a short frame.
