Philip R 2 #1 Posted October 27, 2023 Need some help. The hydro pump on my c-141 took a ****, (wont send fluid to the lift,) it has a 90-1173 sunstrand. I have a 73 no name with a 90-1140 sunstrand (pretty sure it was replaced at one point because that's not what's supposed to be on it). Are these units swappable? And if not what differences do they bear aside from the obvious braking system? Top photo is the sunstrand 1140, bottom is the sunstrand 1173
pfrederi 17,856 #2 Posted October 27, 2023 They will swap you just have to figure out the brake. All of my Sunstrands are older and do not have the external brake. I have no problem with that so you could just leave it off. Do both units have hydro lift??? If not you will have to swap relief valves some.
Philip R 2 #3 Posted October 27, 2023 (edited) Yes, they both have hydraulic lift. And they both have the same transmission except the 73 has the internal parking brake. And as far as the pump brake goes, It looks like I just simply have to remove the linkage that routes from the neutral pedal rod, to the pump brake, which is just one little nut. Philip R 2 #4 Posted November 1, 2023 So, I got the pumps swapped, and everything works just fine. After removing the non working pump, it was discovered that somehow the internal filter on the transmission sustained damage, where the cap with the magnet was ripped off and sent through the gears. I'm guessing without proper filtration the remnants were sucked up into the pump and caused enough damage to destroy the pump.
