bell 11 #1 Posted August 18, 2009 I picked up another round hood today... I knew it was a '64, and figured it was a 854. I stopped by to show it to dad and saw a can of carb cleaner sitting in the doorway of dad's barn. I grabbed a rag and started cleaning the model # sticker. I had to sit down for a minute when I realized what I had..... Here she is! It is very complete and has the original k161... It has been, luckily (?), protected with MULTIPLE layers of paint over the years... The guy said that it runs good, but the fuel line from the pump to the carb is leaking... Hopefully I'll have time tomorrow to fire it up. :thumbs2:

dkopp 1 #9 Posted August 18, 2009 OK...fill us new guys in on why the 754 is such a hard find versus the 854. Was this a low number manufactured tractor or what? Just curious. Nice find by the way...I'm starting to really like the models that have the open type fenders.
bell 11 #10 Posted August 18, 2009 Okay, they were a VERY limited production tractor. According to Bill Pearson, there were only 421 of them made. If you look in the book (Straight from the Horse's mouth), they didn't even exist. there is no mention of it in the model charts... This will back it up and explain everything... http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/index.php?showtopic=9540
CasualObserver 3,407 #11 Posted August 18, 2009 dkopp, here's an old thread discussing the 754. 1964 Model 754 They're hard to find with the search engine because 754 is too short to type into the search parameters.
linen beige 14 #12 Posted August 18, 2009 If you look in the book (Straight from the Horse's mouth), they didn't even exist. there is no mention of it in the model charts... The 1054A is not mentioned in Mike's charts either. But it isn't nearly as rare as the 754 (great find Jon!). Not meaning to hyjack a thread, but has anybody else noticed any other models missing from those charts?
