hotajax 223 #1 Posted October 24, 2023 (edited) Are those things a replaceable part? Tractor is a 314-8. They are split almost all the way in half, and it won't be long. Thanks. I don't even know if they are called "toggles" Probably some other name. If you know the correct name so I can do a search, I'm down for it. Thanks again. lynnmor 7,336 #3 Posted October 24, 2023 (edited) See if you can still buy from this company. I see they have online shopping now. Edited October 24, 2023 by lynnmor 3
Handy Don 12,329 #4 Posted October 24, 2023 Be ready. The material in the some newer toggle hold-down’s I bought is not as flexible/stretchy as the original WH ones. Hence the mount positioning and length must be carefully considered.

hotajax 223 #7 Posted October 24, 2023 (edited) Do I have to drill out the old rivets, then get a rivet gun? Is that how those toggles are replaced? Thanks. Edited October 24, 2023 by hotajax

8ntruck 7,044 #9 Posted October 24, 2023 These might still be available from a Toro dealer. I was on the Toro master parts web site a while ago, and I seem to remember them as still being an active part number. Disclaimer - I'm working from memory here - and that is not as reliable as it used to be.

Yes, if you want to replace the latch as well. Toro dealers have them as well as Parts tree . # 106825 Handle and Latch. rivets not included.

It looks like you can disassemble the old assembly and replace just the rubber part. Thanks for responding
JCM 9,240 #14 Posted October 25, 2023 Yes you can. Small cotter and pin removal to replace just the rubber. @hotajax

What is the best way to remove the rivets? It looks like they are attached from the inside, and "big head" on the rivet is on the outside of the tractor. Thanks gents. You can also drill them out if you can find a good center on them.
Handy Don 12,329 #17 Posted July 29 FWIW, I tried ordering some of these from the jungle site. They were solidly made, and the ones I got had stainless hardware, but the “rubber” did not have even as much elasticity as the ones I’d be replacing!
c-series don 8,760 #18 Posted July 29 I recently got them from Brian at K+B Wheel Horse Parts. They have the removable pin so you can just replace the rubber part.

WHX?? 48,900 #20 Posted July 29 1/8 inch drill and go careful on the rivets.

If the rivets are 1/8” I would use a drill that is a bit larger so that it will cut the head off without entering the part. Just stop when the head is coming free.
