Wheelhorse#1 1,645 #51 Posted June 26 I picked up these old original Carlisle,in great shape at the big show cheap 18x6.50-8 for my 74 12 auto in hopes I could fit them on . No way they will work. This is my snow plow machine and was trying to go a little wider on front. Looks like I’m pretty much stuck with the original size without going to a wider rim is that correct? Dmjr88 2 #55 Posted August 15 Recently aquired a 1989 414-8 and i am looking into getting some tires with tread more suited to slippery snow and pavement. Does anyone have any suggetions? Down there on the south coast of Mass I'd figure you get a fair amount of muck that's acting like snow. IMHO there's nothing better than turfs and chains for that. If you have a nice asphalt drive you care about maybe hunt up some rubber chains. And unfortunately (but fortunately lol) the right rear has a pretty serious crack and leak in it so im currently on the hunt for some new rears at the very least. They're available all over the interwebs. I've used simpletire.com with decent success. Wally world as well. Not sure what the deal is with the 3rd tire on the bottom - tread looks a bit different. Wheels are a bonus, as mine are beat up on the inside flange and require tubes. Scored these for $12.50!!! May have helped me sneak in under the radar since the auction title read "Sears Tires and Wheels - 32x10x12". I think the cords are shot in my old Carlisle tires and significant cracking. My Carlsiles have looked like that when I've been lazy and added air without bothering to check the pressure. On the general subject of tires on this thread, I'm kind of shopping for a set of diamond tread turf tires for my C-195. 27-9.50x15 is the stock tire size. Anybody got ideas for a source?
