Little Help 417-8 Tie Rod part number ? Need set ~

Going to need tie rods, one of mine came apart today. Was wondering if anyone could recommend someone ?

Would settle for good used parts if available from someone. Dose anyone know the part numbers for my machine.

Hmmm.... the OE parts can be pricey - to the tune of $128 for the pair on the 'Bay site.  

Used, unless they are next to free, are just another disappointment waiting to happen down the road........

Check out what Lowell has to offer - better quality, better price.  

 

Best ones use Heim joints on each end - myself and others here have made their own - some even make theirs with threaded rod and a hacksaw. There have been numerous posts about that.....

For a stock style replacement it would be really hard to beat the ones from Lowell, Wheel Horse Parts and more. 

They are good quality and also adjustable so you can perfect the proper toe in.   

 

I agree with the heim joints.

I've made a few sets and that's the way we will go on our tractors from now on.

Agree with the comments above. Lowell has quality ones at a good price, plus the ends are replaceable with common ball joints if the need should ever arise.

To me, tierods, PTO friction plates, and brake bands are items that buying used is a waste of money.

Thanks everyone for the info..Have placed an order with Lowell just now. I don't know what type joints he uses, got to be better than  mine.

Lowell pretty quick to ship, orderd on 19th received yesterday 23rd. Parts look well made. Should I Loctite the nuts ??

I'd do that if I left non-locking nuts on...

 

We almost always use Nylock nuts for pretty much everything now.

Probably replace soon with the Nylock nuts
