ebinmaine 67,422 #105 Posted November 21, 2023 Trina and I were talking this over a few minutes ago about the wiring. We believe that the RED wire coming out from behind the flywheel was connected to the ammeter which was in turn connected directly to the solenoid so it was direct battery connection all the time. The switch has: G. Ground M. Magneto S. Solenoid B. Battery L. Lights We're pretty sure that B & L were NOT connected when we got the tractor. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Best bet would be to buy a new 103-991 switch and use the Operator Manual wiring diagram. Ground wire goes to a small screw like stud with a blade that the kill wire slides onto. Grounds the Mag to shut off the tractor. If you need one ,I will try to get a picture. You sure the switch doesn't have ACC on it?? I forget how the charging wire and the Amp gauge is wired. I think I didn't put one on my GT1848. I wouldn't think you would necessarily have to use the stud for a ground, I would think any ground would work. This is near to THE LATEST day in the year we've had the first measurable snow (we've seen flurries several times). Our growing season is ended by the first frost usually in mid September. We normally get a measurable snow sometime in October. Occasionally late September. The last 20 years things have been changing. Maine is the state that is warming the fastest of the lower 48.
