GT1800 Hydro refresh for our friends!

The headlight bezels had some overspray. Both black and gray.

A bit of scrubbing took care of that.

EB.  Is this going to be a grey and black, or red and grey, or custom paint work horse?

The red you see is a Wheel Horse color.

It's the maroon used late 80s, early 90s maybe?

This one will be maroon hood, seat pan, and side covers. The rest ((??)) Probably black but I didn't ask...

Not this fall, but maybe later.

Gotta let the paint cure for a few months.

The Paint Department was busy as usual today.

Washing sanding spraying etc...

Side steps are all that's left to make maroon.

I accidentally pained my rubber hood hold-downs, too!

I'd bet it wasn't an accident in this case.

She's just trying to get it prettierified for the new owners.

If they want it restored properly later we'll take more care in painting or get another hood.

Isn’t that a Briggs ?

I wonder if an 18 and a 16 hp opposed Briggs would use the same filter ?

Maybe 🤔

I don't have an old filter element.

Do you want me to measure the filter and pre cleaner on my Work Horse’s 16 hp opossed twin tomorrow and give you some dimensions ?…

Maybe you can take those dimensions and figure out if the same filter would fit yours.

No name stamped in the engine shroud, engine I.d.  Tag ?

@ebinmaine I’ll check my manuals in the morning to see if I can get a filter and pre filter for number for you.

Do you have the number of the engine?

Most of the time It's located on the cilinder cooling shroud.

If you have the Briggs engine number it's pretty straightforward to look up the correct filter parts.

This is what went on my opposed twin not too long ago.

I think it's the same filter used on some Vanguard Engine models.  It may be available at TSC, possibly Lowe's or Home Depot too.

If it's not a pain I'd be curious to know what you have.

I'll double check the engine shrouds. I don't recall a usable number.

@ebinmaine ,

On my 16 hp Briggs opposed, I used a NAPA GOLD 2359.

approx. 7 inches outside dia.

approx. 2-1/4 tall

I forgot to get the inside diameter. Do you want me to get it for you ?

No worries there.

Lemme check the base and lid to see if there's any old impressions of the filter elements.

Hope these pictures help.  Engine numbers should be stamped in the tins covering the #1 cylinder.  If you can't find your numbers these numbers should help you get the parts you need.  422457 are the first six numbers that are difficult to read.
