pfrederi 17,741 #2 Posted October 8, 2023 If you are talking about axle movement up down front back that is not good. In and out play up to 1/8" is OK

earlleecliffton 38 #6 Posted October 9, 2023 it's a hydro I think I can do it.but can't find any manual on it
953 nut 55,256 #7 Posted October 9, 2023 You will need to open up the transaxle to replace the bearings but can leave the pump, output gears and hoses connected, just hang them from the steering wheel while you remove the rest. The 5ransaxle is all gears and shafts, no hydro parts need to be replaced if the only problem is the axle bearings.. One of the lower bolts on the mounting plate is a very tight fit, get a 1/4" drive 9/16 short socket before you even begin the removal, you'll need it. I have included the acceleration springs as they are subject to being broken after five decades of hard work. Listed below are the minimum number of parts you will need if the axle bearings are the only ones being replaced. Lowell @wheelhorseman has the parts you will need, he is great to deal with and can help you find other parts I may have forgotten. https://wheelhorsepartsandmore.com/product/6449-axle-seal-for-hydrostatic-transmission/ Two axler seals https://wheelhorsepartsandmore.com/product/wheel-horse-5999-transmission-gasket/ One housing gasket https://wheelhorsepartsandmore.com/product/5955-102759-gasket-pump-wheel-horse/ One Pump Gasket https://wheelhorsepartsandmore.com/product/transmission-acceleration-springs-2-7052-9215-2-7264-9858/ One set of acceleratyion springs https://wheelhorsepartsandmore.com/product/5996-cam-plate-for-hydrostatic-transmission/ One Cam Plate https://wheelhorsepartsandmore.com/product/1526-9416/ Two axle bearings 1

earlleecliffton 38 #9 Posted October 9, 2023 But should I replace inner bearings too ?

Probably won't need to because they don't carry the weight of the ntractor like the outer ones. Of course you will want to examine all of the bearings.
