TC10284 111 #1 Posted October 6, 2023 (edited) Would you run this spindle housing a while, or not? Pics: https://photos.app.goo.gl/vETgyXsk6Q6EtM156 Edited October 6, 2023 by TC10284
cleat 6,060 #2 Posted October 6, 2023 With 3 good bolts holding it I would run it no problem I think some mowers only have 3 bolts when new.
daveoman1966 3,752 #3 Posted October 6, 2023 Corrosion like this is from acidic grass clippings. YES... you can use it, just unbolt it and turn the corroded side away from the grass clippings.... downstream, as it were.
Pullstart 62,913 #4 Posted October 6, 2023 As long as the bearing journals are in good order, it’s run-able. On a side note, please consider the help and support and benefits you’ve gained from this site, with a small thanks of becoming a supporter. It sure would be nice to see the pictures here on the forum
peter lena 8,634 #5 Posted October 6, 2023 @TC10284 looks like a rust starved deck , would never let one even approach that , most important thing about a spindle , is its INTERNAL LUBRICATION . that deck sitting upside down / angled to the sun for a hot lubrication soak in , is what you do , if you want to save a deck , would also bet related pulley bearings are very noisy , PTO clutch smoked ? is all related . my decks spin up by hand at mule belt drive area . just my own experience / personal maintenance regular check over . pete
