Footrest pads, optional?

Recommended Posts

JoeM

Was tinkering with the latest horse, a 310-8 (1990), and noticed there are no tread pads on the footrest. Nor is there any sign that there was ever anything there.

Scouted around a bit on the web for others pics and seen many pics of machines from this time era with no tread pads.

Just wondering if it was an option or something only used on certain models?

I have seen some with and with out also. If you want an inexpensive replacement Harbor Freight has step treads that are easy to trim to size and you can also buy a larger square piece for around $4.00 that you can trim also. I like traction under my feet when stepping on and off the foot rest.

My 1990 310-8 has footrest covers that are like skateboard grip tape. I like it because a painted surface is slippery when wet.

I used stair step treads with really sticky glue already applied to the backside… bought at Lowes.

Just peel and stick(after you cut to fit)

I like the yellow stripe on them too…

The early years were glued on with contact cement which can peel loose with age.  One of the things I've seen done with good results is spray-on pickup bed liner.

I believe with the recommendation of a club member here, I just purchased a Goodyear "Fine Ribbed" Rubber Flooring from Zoro for $43.29.

I have a 416-H that I don’t believe ever had rubber mats? I bought it with around 200 hours on it and it didn’t have any signs of them.

I have been messing with these machines for years and this is the first one with no treads. It is odd but after looking around I have found others on line.

I like that stair grip tape. I get it from MMC, always fresh and sticky. No yellow line tho.

That yella stripe looks very nice. Especially on that haze grey and underway colored tractor.

I would bet that the 200 hr time frame is when my footrest mats (1990 310-8) peeled off the tractor. The adhesive just let go. I am the only owner of that tractor.
