WH953 0 #1 Posted August 16, 2009 Hello from Illinois. Just learning to "navigate" the site. I hope this is in the right place. As you probably already figured I own a Wheel Horse 953. I guess it would be described as in "good original condition." Engine smokes some, but not while it's "working." Would like to restore it for "showing".... someday. WH953 0 #10 Posted August 20, 2009 Do to our economic status. My budget for restoring anything is at zero. All of the equipment I own is "as is". I have tried to keep up with the mechanical repairs just to keep things running. Everything I have is a different make. Just one is a Wheel Horse. It may be true that some, or all, of my tractors fall into the "collector" category. The newest one is 38 years old, and the oldest turned 61 this year. There's no shine to any of them. They're not pretty. They're rusty, dirty, and scratched up. Best I'd be able to do, right now, is give things a bath to wash some of the dust off. I guess, what I'm trying to say is, I don't know if my "stuff" would be worthy of posting a picture. I'd love to be able to bring my tractor/tractors to a show sometime. But I really don't know about that either. BILL
TJ 175 #11 Posted August 20, 2009 No snobs here. :thumbs2:
VinsRJ 721 #12 Posted August 20, 2009 :thumbs2: As long as those units are cared for it doesn't matter what they look like. Tractors were not ment to be trailer queens.
Duff 206 #13 Posted August 20, 2009  Like the guys (and gals) say, no snobs here - just a bunch of folks with a whole lot of affection for these red tractors. New, used, beat, restored, dusty, rusty, or musty - they're still our Horses! Welcome aboard! Duff :thumbs2:

Red Iron 1 #18 Posted September 12, 2009 :hide: Nice little herd you got! Any tractor regardless how it looks, how big it is (or small), attachments, etc. If they run, and do chores, that's GREAT! IF they are taking space in a barn, waiting to be fixed, that's good! If they are sitting out in a field, rusting away, that's BAD (I learned!). It nice to see a variety or an oddball tractor! I had a boat seat on my first 1054 (since sold), red too and comfy. Just like some of us, if it ain't broke, use it! :scratchead:
