Larry D 0 #1 Posted September 27, 2023 Does anyone know if the mower deck spindles are the same on a Series 200 36 inch RD and a 37 inch SD?
ri702bill 8,560 #2 Posted September 27, 2023 Larry - welcome. Download the manual for each - look over the part numbers to get your answer. There are FOUR possibilities for innards, although the decks accept all as a complete replacement (some blade interfaces are different though).
daveoman1966 3,762 #3 Posted September 28, 2023 Not likely. The 36" deck is a 3-spindle deck... the 37" has only two spindles. They are not even similar.
peter lena 8,876 #4 Posted September 28, 2023 @Larry D looking right at you , ? notice the opportunity ? WIDE RUBBER BEARING , GREASE SHIELDS ? no matter what the spindle, hi temp / hi stress , re / grease . just a suggestion , Pete
8ntruck 7,182 #5 Posted September 29, 2023 The local furniture store is also as Cub Cadet dealer. On our last visit three, I noticed a Cub Cadet display bragging about their tool free blade changing system. It is a spring loaded bayonet type system. Push the retainer back against a spring, lift the blade off of the drive lugs, turn it 90 degrees or so, then it comes off of the spindle. Kind of neat. My next thoughts were about adapting those spindle assemblies to Horse decks, to get currently supported parts into an old deck.

I still need new spindles for the 0536MR03 deck. Where can I get them? I am quite confused with your response. Partstree shows them as 107448 but I also saw the complete unit as 105074 Edited September 30, 2023 by Larry D More info
peter lena 8,876 #7 Posted September 30, 2023 @LarryD sorry larry, our views and spindle experience , is on opposed ends of the scale, no sarcasm / insult intended . done decks , the opportunity , to replace , original grease , at that point, is what's done to prevent , inevitable failure , thats how I see it . you are looking at the entire spindle , main thing I see , is the WIDE BLACK RUBBER SIDE SHIELDS , realize , you think a bearing is a bearing , lubricant failure due to , heat / stress , is what makes bearings whine with noise. they are literally telling you that . very often refer to next step , TO IMPROVE / CHANGE a failure point . thats how I look at at a problem , obviousely , PARTSTREE, is selling the correct bearing match , but it will not stand up , the first , rotational , hi heat , struggle it has , will change its sound / failure , my thought is why not prevent that ? probably best for you to just go with what's listed , stopping confusion . stay with the replacement , as is required, keep it simple , pete
