Seat spring question

Recommended Posts

steelworker2004

I'm putting original type seat springs back on my wheel horse (missing when I bought it). Was wondering if the short end of the spring bolts to the seat or vice versa. Thanks

Dave, you may want to find a new home for that box on your work bench.       Big Brother is watching us all.    :law-policered:

Thanks, I never would have thought they might be the wrong dimensions from the factory!

Those seat springs have a bad design that loads most of the weight to one area of the seat pan. The seat pan wasn't designed with enough strength and the load causes stress cracks. 20230326_144048.jpg.c29838c10e3f2d7b56efa68907146fd4.jpg

I got the cracks welded up then added super-strut to keep that seat pan from being flexed in the future. SeatUnistrut2.jpg.8c9278e1dd852552fa8e4243bc80dde3.jpg SeatUnistrut.jpg.34dfa8293d9679cfce0e2bb397750a07.jpg
