River_Ratt 0 #1 Posted September 19, 2023 so i bought this mower a few months ago for 100 bucks and when i got it, it tried to start with no oil in it, once i put oil in the motor it would not start, it wouldn't even bump over. the starter is good and everything is attached that needs to be BUT i was going over the wiring and i found a pink wire that was crimped with a grey wire attached to it, would the pink wire with it not being connected to anything else, would that have an effect with it not starting or even cracking over? River_Ratt 0 #4 Posted September 19, 2023 would a pto switch affect anything about it not starting
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,159 #5 Posted September 19, 2023 Yes. The pto switch is in 2 parts. One half controls the starter along with the clutch pedal switch and the other half controls the ignition with the seat switch.

Trying to start it with no oil may have mechanically damaged the engine and locked it up. If you can turn it over by hand with it turning smoothly and no metal grinding sounds, then proceed with electrical trouble shooting.
