Lost Pup 172 #1 Posted September 17, 2023 Looking at a quick purchase and my trailer is on lend…..always seems that way. Do you think TWO 520’s load up ok in a UHaul 6x12 foot trailer ? Opinion and thoughts welcome. It a few hours away so a single trip is preferred ? Thanks

kpinnc 13,728 #6 Posted September 17, 2023 And for future reference, two STANDARD wheelbase Wheel Horses can be carried in a 10-foot long trailer, albeit difficult... Takes many ratchet straps at guitar string tension to make it road worthy... So two 520s should be able to squeeze in a 12 footer. You might have to offset them to make it work, but it can be done.
Gasaholic 257 #7 Posted September 17, 2023 ...Unless of course you take a pair of ramps and side-load them on the trailer , then you can fit several.... depending on how the fenders over wheels sit. Or, like we did back in the 80's , take a small floor jack, load one at a time and angle them in, then jack up rear end and use jack to roll 'em sideways to squeeze them on. we had as many as 4 tractors loaded at a time that way... I did that on solo P&D Trips when I worked for the dealership, but it was nice to have a helper ride along. (and it was a moneymaker too, full P&D Rate per tractor, in just one trip) Of course, I was much younger then (in my 20's) - but if I knew then what I know now (Back & Knees are shot to hell) , I probably would not have been so efficient at it... these days, I am seriously paying for all that abuse I put my body through in the 80's
