BairleaFarm 340 #1 Posted September 16, 2023 From the beginning, even as much as I love wh, I wanted a 400 series John Deere. I think because they remind me of the 2955 we have on the farm. Maybe the wh red coincides with the 986 ih I grew up on. Anyways within 2 weeks I ended up with two. BairleaFarm 340 #2 Posted September 16, 2023 I picked up a running Kubota with a d600 3 cylinder diesel. It's 14hp but will power the 420 with no issues (this will never run a deck) I spoke with a gentleman who knows way more than I do about the mathematics but got to talking about hp to pump to flow to tip speed to rpm and lost me but the end result was a 14hp diesel is plenty to run the ground equipment I want.
