Bob Bauer 26 #1 Posted September 8, 2023 So I’m replacing the valves on a k 91 and as careful as I was I messed up the intake by taking off 2 thousands of inch more than called for. So do you think I will be alright with that or should I replace? Thanks
ri702bill 8,326 #2 Posted September 8, 2023 (edited) If you cut the valve seat, just a tad, it will sink the valve a bit to get your .002 and a bit more back. Cut the seat, hand lap the valve to get a decent seating pattern, Remeasure the valve clearance and re-cut the stem.....BT,DT.... Edit - Grinding the valve angled surface does the same thing..... gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,046 #3 Posted September 9, 2023 It will not take much lapping to get that .002" back.
