ebinmaine 68,452 #1 Posted August 30, 2023 In another thread by @pfrederi I'm reminded that I should have a Slide Hammer... and do not. What do I need to know about getting one?
WHX?? 49,180 #2 Posted August 30, 2023 (edited) What do you need it for? Busting the snap ring on tranny axles? . Actually that's not a bad idea on a stubborn hub with intent to split & go through the tranny anyway. There is a mini one that comes with the cheapy jungle blind bearing tool. ri702bill 8,512 #5 Posted August 31, 2023 (edited) In a post I had on the Forum before - I made an adapter to put a Vise-Grip on the front of an automotive dent puller. Use it to pull stuck axle keys. Recently used it to pull rusted square cut nails from my front porch floor. Edited August 31, 2023 by ri702bill 5
ranger 1,760 #6 Posted September 4, 2023 A couple of pics of one of mine, 9-1/2 kg’s, ideal for removing axle halfshafts, and especially for pulling recalcitrant diesel injectors. One job still outstanding is to weld a handle on either side, as found on post rammers!
