These Black Hoods seemed to be following me home.

this relative has never operated a Wheel Horse or any other type of garden

I gifted a 310-8 & 42” RD to my niece. Same situation. Same preparation and lessons.

Two conditions of the gift? Promise you will never mow with your children in the yard. The tractor’s name is Bob, period.

Last I heard every time my orange “K” tractor-owning brother shows up at his daughter’s house he want’s to mow the lawn using Bob.

A man has to have some joy other than tractors. Nice ride.

That's a nice looking machine. I'm curious and a bit puzzled, as to why I have yet to even see a black hood around here.  As of yesterday the number of WH tractors that have been in my possession if I remember correctly is 9, all 300-400-500 series and one B-100 - no black hoods. Plus I am always looking when driving around, and I just never see any. I guess I could go read the mfg stats on these, but are they that much rarer than these other models?  I really like the way they look.... maybe I need to set a goal to find one after I clear out some of this "accumulation" I have. :eusa-think:

C105 was my 1st Wheel Horse. Bought it local (2mi away) for $200 & it ran. Had a rear discharge deck that was good too!

Been moving my 5x10 trailer around yard with it. The snowblower definitely helps counter the weight of the trailer. I'm hauling #57 crushed riverstone to fill around my girlfriend's she shed, behind her prayer garden, & a few other places in yard. She promised when I get shed project done I can buy as many Wheel Horses as I want to!

That's a pretty machine! I wasn't fond of the black hoods until I cam across a C-165. Maybe it's because it's a 160, or a black hood. IDK? Glad to bring her home. My favorite

Absolutely not! Got married 1x & that's enough. I'm 53 (girlfriend is 38) I'm in great financial situation, house paid off, no credit card debt, etc. On track to retire @62. Not taking any chances.

Lots of busy working tractors in that picture.  That would be a good shot for a "Wheel Horses at Work" calendar, or something like that. :D

I like those black hoods but it seems like the ones I latch on to need the hood tightened up. I call them rattle hoods.

I have a question tho, do the machines with the rubber mounts have balance gears in the engine?

Somewhere I thought I read where they were omitted. ???

@Joey Small Block https://www.amazon.com/ESUPPORT-Moulding-Scratch-Protector-Transparent/dp/B07Z7DFNL3/ref=asc_df_B07Z7DFNL3/?t  use this on my hoods , quick easy noise elimination , also detail in the related movement points , and any related rattling, only if  you want to ,  also use fender washers to firm up areas , pete

@Joey Small Block have  horses over 40 years , like a routine / regular failure point , to use as a track for an elimination of the problem . Pete

I don't have much property but really like to have one machine per task when possible. I find that to be a good excuse for needing another at times

My C-125 having a rest from mowing duties and giving grand daughter a ride.

Love the C-125s. I have mates named Ron and Andy but you haven't lived until you've had a friend named Dunc.

You and your grandson did a great job on those blackhoods!

Helping or I should say watching you two dig that 165 out and loading it up is a great memory. Your grandson was so excited about getting it.
