Vinco 33 #1 Posted August 25, 2023 Is there a Wheel Horse that came from the factory with a Briggs 23D engine? I acquired one today that runs.

The Briggs were a replacement engine. An excellent one. What's the model you have? Any pics ??

I'll get some pictures in a bit. Would it be too much for a 552 that has already been repowered with a Wisconsin? Edited August 26, 2023 by Vinco

Vinco 33 #7 Posted August 26, 2023 As huge as this engine is I was hoping it was more like 16 hp, but from what I read so far it should be a very torquey 9 hp!

The Wisconsin ACN that's on the tractor is 14". I don't have any Kohler singles so I don't have a practical concept of scale to compare those. It weighs a LOT! I can barely pick it up by myself, though that's not saying all that much, as I have lost a huge amount of strength over the last 2 years because of medical stuff. Vinco 33 #11 Posted August 28, 2023 I measured again. The Briggs is 18" tall, but the Wisconsin ACN is actually just 14" tall. It sits on a 1" spacer on the 552 frame, and with that the crankshaft centerline is about 4.25" up from the frame. The Briggs crankshaft centerline is about 6.25" off the floor. So it will likely not be a good fit on the 552 because of the belt drive. Peek at the 552 in the last picture.
